In the year 220X, humanity encountered a lifeform from another dimension — the Bydo.

Survival or extinction.

The R-9 fighter, equipped with the ultimate weapon known as the Force, is deployed.
Though seemingly defeated after a fierce battle, the Bydo return from beyond the dimensional rift.
The war continues from the First Bydo Mission (R-TYPE) to the Second Bydo Mission (R-TYPE II).
