Unbeknownst to Antonia, a simple-minded anthropologist, a craving for elaborate meals had been simmering in her town. This realization sparks her quest to visit neighboring towns, learn their recipes, and bring them back to satisfy her community’s needs—and their appetites.

Her involvement in the affairs of these towns teaches her the profound role food plays in a community, where she learns that, even without words, a well-prepared meal can serve as a helping hand, a pat on the back, or even a warm hug.
