Description
This game is about one very simple idea: jumping up. You are a small character in a tall place, and your goal is to reach the top to find fun. There is no fighting, and no running from danger. The game is focused. The area is stacked upward. Each platform is something you can stand on. Some platforms are close together, and some are far apart, making you think before you move. You don’t have many buttons to press. Just the mouse, mostly. There are no enemies at all. Nothing is trying to hurt you or stop you. The challenge comes from understanding how moving and jumping work. You need to understand gravity. Gravity is what pulls you down toward the ground. Even when you can’t see it, gravity is always there. Gravity doesn’t work on everything, just you. When you press the jump button, your character jumps off the platform. Your feet leave the platform, and for a tiny bit of time, you are in the air. While you are in the air, gravity is still working. Ultimately, you start falling back down again. Falling is a punishment in this game. If you miss a platform, gravity pulls you down until you land somewhere. There is no fall damage. The game lets you try as many times as you'd like. You learn how long you stay in the air and how high and far you go. However, after you get upgrades, your jumps will change, both farther and/or higher, and you will have to learn it again. As you climb higher, the platforms change. Some are smaller, and some are farther apart. You must jump from the right place, or may need to go get upgrades and return. Without enemies, the biggest challenge is patience. You wait, and you choose when to jump. The game teaches you that rushing usually makes you fall, because gravity doesn’t care if you are in a hurry. Every fall teaches you something new. Maybe you jumped too early. Maybe you jumped too late. There is a jump strength bar that appears over your head when you hold down the jump button, use it wisely. The higher you go, the farther you have to fall down. The game is just your character, the platforms, gravity, and upgrades, (and a single song, if you want to play it). The game also features a jump counter, a height counter, and makes text comments on the situation and gameplay. This game isn’t about winning fast, but it could be if you were good at the game.
