1. Kyoho era. Repeated incidents in Edo upset and frighten the people, so the “Oniwaban” is created to help maintain order and security. A girl born with special powers in a far away village has been exiled to the snowy mountains because she sees “black Threads” whenever a disaster will occur.
   

Men claiming to be Oniwaban appear at her door, saying she is needed in Edo. Her ability to sense oncoming disasters could save the country from demonic forces.
