Tank T-62 was developed in the early 60s as a modernised version of the T-55 tank, and in 1961, was adopted to service in the Soviet Army. It was one of the most armored tanks of its time. The new tank was equipped with a specially developed 115 mm U-5TS “Hammer” smoothbore gun with a two-axis stabilizer, coaxial 7.62 mm SGMT machine gun. A diesel engine with 580 hp allows the tank to reach a maximum speed of 50 km/h. This tank with a hull number 545 participated in the Sino-Soviet border conflict near Damansky island in March 1969 and was captured by the Chinese Army.
