Stridsvagn 103 (Strv 103), a swedish main battle tank, also known as “S-Tank”, developed in the early 1960s. The significant design feature for this tank was its turretless composition with a fixed gun installation where gun laying was acquired with tilting and rotating the vehicle. For the first time, the world saw a tank that had a two-engine propulsion system installed - opposed-piston diesel and gas-turbine engines, which allowed the tank to reach a maximum speed of about 50 km/h. The armament on the Strv 103-0 prototype consisted of a 105 mm rifled gun with an electromechanical autoloader and two 7.62 mm coaxial machine guns.
