“Stroyny” (Lean) is one of the “Type 7U” series of soviet destroyers, developed in the mid-1930’s. During WWII, it took part in the defence of the heroic city of Leningrad. The armament of this destroyer consists of four 130mm main guns, enhanced with torpedo armament in the form of two three-barrel automatic weapons and depth charges. AA defence is provided by 76mm guns on the stern, 37mm semi-automatic guns and 12.7mm DShK heavy machine guns on the fore end of the destroyer. “Stroyny” stands equal with ships of the same class and can provide significant fire support. The engine has a nominal output of around 60,000 hp and the ship can reach a speed of 36–38 knots (up to 70 km/h). Unlike the regular 7U, the “Stroyny” has three 76mm guns on the stern instead of two.
