Virulence is a 2D top down metroidvania / Zelda-like action RPG, where the player will explore the human body as a virus species and infect other cells in order to survive. The player can control an individual virus or command a whole population.

• Explore the human body as a vast interconnected world of different organs, body systems and cells

• Organs act as major dungeons which need to be conquered in order to fully infect the host body

• Complete organ dungeons according to your own path

• Virus populations abilities can be upgraded in order to survive within the human body, increase virus movement speed or virus health or even acquire various environmental modifiers

• Infect host cells in order to replicate and grow population, as well to upgrade abilities

• Control an individual virus or move an entire population viruses as a flock

• Dynamically switch to any virus of your choosing, either by proximity to current virus or by cycling through entire population

• Face numerous enemies from the bodies own immune cells, to other pathogens such as bacteria, parasites...

• Survive the harsh environmental conditions which exist in the human body!

• When virus population reaches zero its game over!
