About the Game
The crisp coastline of Northern England beckons, as Just Trains’ next foray into 1986 action, featuring all-new and time-tested heritage DMU traction, sprawls westbound out of historic Carlisle and along the crest of the classic Cumbrian Coast Line. Serve the seaside towns & slice up the silence with freight-laden diesels.
What is now known today as the Cumbrian Coast Line was originally assembled by way of multiple companies joining up through the birth of the railway era. Each solitary railway provided their own town links and access for key freight traffic to ports, but the sum of their parts eventually formed a complete coastal loop.
In Train Sim World, make some noise along the quaint coastal line between Whitehaven and Workington, then sail inland northeast for Carlisle. Rural passenger duties aboard the authentically 80s BR Class 108 provide a treat for all the senses, and a unique challenge with varying stopping patterns, changing gradients and of course, mechanical gear-changing action.
Fuel-up for freight with the tattered and hard-working BR Class 47/0, the original and timeless classic for spooning up steel and brushing along branches. With new BDA Bolster and OTA Timber wagons in-tow, the waning years of North English railfreight cling on to coastal service; serve local industries and seaside ports between the breezy passenger flow.
Expand your 1980s collection for the definitive nostalgia kick, West Coast Main Line traffic courtesy of Preston-Carlisle and Crewe-Preston (each available separately) brings the citadel station to life, and additional yesteryear traffic bolsters the Cumbrian Coast with extra freight workings. Whatever your speed, choose your traction and embark on a journey that time forgot, but enthusiasts did not.
