The Red Truck DLC adds a new storm chasing vehicle to Tornado: Research and Rescue.

The Red Truck has its own engine sounds and handling characteristics, but its biggest difference is that it can carry two research probes instead of one.

Having a second probe gives you more options during a chase. You can deploy multiple probes during the same intercept, gather research from different locations, or use both probes when conducting chemical experiments on a tornado.

That extra capability comes with a trade-off: the Red Truck's larger profile makes it more vulnerable to strong winds than the standard truck , so getting closer to powerful tornadoes requires more careful positioning.
