Description
Super Gorilla Quest 2: A Space Chimpanzee is the newest RPG sensation (that is, if you're reading this a few minutes after release). It follows a team of four primates (a gorilla, an orangutan, a chimpanzee, and a bonobo) traveling through many distant lands, mostly space-related, attempting to stop the evil Mayor from destroying all non-human life. It is a direct sequel to the original Super Gorilla Quest. However, if you don't wish to play the original first, a recap is available in-game.
Four apes, Gorilla (a stoic and driven gorilla), Orangutan (an orangutan who is incapable of speech), Chimpanzee (an intelligent but incredibly violent chimpanzee), and Bonobo (a kind-hearted and helpful bonobo), are stranded on the Moon. This is occurring because of the events of the previous game, wherein they chased the evil Mayor of City 1 (a prominent city on Earth) to the Moon to stop her from destroying all non-human life on Earth. Shortly after this, they discover an even greater conspiracy, possibly involving others they've met previously: a scheme to destroy all non-human life in the universe. To stop this, they must go on a crazy journey through space, time, and even beyond the universe itself. Along their way, they meet many other (mostly insane) individuals and experience more difficult trials than they hoped they would. There is also a severe dose of absurdist and black comedy added into the mix.
Super Gorilla Quest 2 is a relatively traditional RPG, with all the trappings you'd come to expect (except for random encounters, as those are terrible. this game doesn't have any). The majority of the game is spent traversing various (often surreal) environments, fighting enemies, solving puzzles, and exploring. There are also often small minigames and the like to shake up gameplay. There is a large degree of customizability to how you approach battles, as despite each character having a small number of moves, you can string them together in numerous ways to defeat the enemies with relative ease. There are also countless "trinkets" scattered throughout the game that give you interesting gameplay buffs/debuffs, which you need to use strategically.
7-8 hours of thrilling space gorilla gameplay
Challenging but fun turn-based combat
An eclectic and entertaining soundtrack
Large amounts of quality absurdist comedy
Humorous and surreal sprites and artwork
Several primates, I'm pretty sure
And much more!
So give it a shot if any of this sounds entertaining to you! And if it doesn't, then get out, we don't want you here!! (just kidding, please stay, i'm sorry)
