Under a vast, indifferent star-filled sky, you work alone — steel cables creaking, the crane whining against the cold, warning lights flickering at the edge of visibility. Each container must be lifted from the darkness, purified from residual radiation, logged, and prepared for transfer. Follow the procedure. Stay efficient. Don't deviate.

The pit does not speak, and it does not need to. It only signals, and something in the interval between signals has learned to move.
