Background:

Shu's national resources were exhausted after Jiang Wei, who had been using Hanzhong as his base, launched a series of northern expeditions. Meanwhile in Wei, after the "Incident at the Gaoping Tombs", the Sima clan had risen to power. After taking control, Sima Zhao views the chaos in Shu as an opportunity, and orders Zhong Hui and Deng Ai to conquer Shu. The Three Kingdoms that had thrived for so long were about to end.
