Reign of Victory is a small multiplayer RPG with unique classes. Each class has it's own goals and abilities.

There are some short quests designed to help players understand their classes more, walking players through the basic mechanics of the game and creating lore around a few key NPCs.

  • Villagers have a focus on collecting resources in a cozy gameplay style, they are immune to damage from other players (and cannot damage others) making them PvE only when it comes to combat. They collect resources with a caravan, process those resources at work stations they build, and build their village. Once the village is built they can load resources onto a caravan and pull it to another village to trade their cargo for gold.

  • Outlaws can steal from caravans, storages, and various NPC locations, but just because they have the goods doesn't mean they're safe! If anyone hits an outlaw, some of their stolen goods are returned to where they were stolen from. If the outlaw is killed (or if they respawn on their own) before they can fence their stolen goods, they lose everything they stole. Outlaws have a slightly increased jump distance and will disappear from the minimap when they crouch; to give them the edge in escaping up buildings and disappearing with their stolen goods.

  • Knights are the combat-first class, every time any other player claims a region to build a villager on, part of that region becomes a zone that knights can control. It doesn't affect the people who own the village much, but it does mean that the whole world becomes a dynamic, shifting battleground. Knights earn gold for the time that they control the zone.

You can chop wood, mine stone or iron, gather fiber, hunt deer or go fishing. Resources are always useful to collect, but you can always use gold to skip resource collection, especially as a knight or outlaw who have alternate methods of collecting gold. Resource collection is cozy and meditative, keeping you just busy enough to get into a flow state.

Each resource can be processed into a secondary version, milling logs into planks, taking rough rock and polishing it into stone, smelting ore into ingots, weaving fibers into cloth or baking fish or venison into meat pies.

You can lay claim to a region and use collected resources to build buildings. Any gold you earn can be used as a universal resource to construct regions faster. You can also blueprint your villages to keep a design you like. Once you build something, it becomes easier to build it again.

Combat has depth as you can attack from or block from multiple directions, you have to line up your attack or block with your opponent's in real time. They are combo attacks and chain heavy attacks that can do damage faster or more all at once.
