The Gameplay

Purranoia is an action roguelike where you fight off hordes of foes, with a major twist: you cannot control your movement. Instead, you wield a wide range of powerful scientific inventions to defend Mousti.

Each invention behaves drastically differently from the last. Combining them leads to thousands of distinct builds. With enough upgrades, you can achieve near-permanent invulnerability or the ability to clear the entire screen of foes.

Every foe defeated grants score points used to unlock Purrks. Purrks range from increased survivability, to unlocking advanced inventions, to raising difficulty in exchange for higher score gains each run.

A mad scientist uses the innocent cat, Mousti, as the subject of a dangerous quantum experiment. Help Mousti survive using the scientist’s own inventions. How this chaos advances science is unclear, but the scientist seeks glory, and Mousti holds the key to the experiment’s outcome.

Join a hectic, action-packed escape as you travel with Mousti, fleeing the clutches of a mad scientist in search of home. Grow stronger with each escape attempt. Just powerful enough, perhaps, to finally make it back home...
