Oil Clicker is an accessible idle and incremental game in which the player takes on the role of a rising oil baron. Starting with a small drilling site, the player gradually builds a growing oil empire: from simple hand pumps to pumpjacks and refineries, all the way to massive offshore rigs. Through active clicking and automated production, the amount of oil produced steadily increases, allowing for stronger upgrades and larger investments.

At the core of the game is a clear and rewarding progression loop. During each run, the player collects oil, unlocks new production stages and purchases temporary upgrades to further accelerate production. Once enough oil has been earned within a run, the player can ascend and earn Ascend Points. These serve as a permanent currency for Ascend Upgrades, ensuring that each new run starts faster and more efficiently.
