LOW VALUE JOB is a dystopian job-simulation game where your daily duty is to sort scattered parts on a desk.

Bolts of various lengths.
Nuts.
Washers.
Small components that become difficult to use when mixed together, and therefore must be separated and stored by type.

Your job is to pick up each part, examine it, and classify it carefully and efficiently. A monotonous task, yet strangely absorbing.

In single-player mode, you can focus entirely on pushing your score higher at your own pace, while online matches let you compete with players around the world to prove your parts-sorting skills.

Features

  • A Void-Filled Parts-Sorting Action Experience
Pick up each part, study it, and sort it with precision – that simple action is almost the entire game. You can quietly grind away on your own, or throw yourself into intense online competition and self-improvement. In a dim, near-future world, a hollow, almost meaningless job is waiting for you.

  • Online Battles for up to 8 Players
Sorting 100 parts quickly and accurately — that’s the simple rule.

  • Capturing the Atmosphere of a Dead-End Desk Job
The core concept of this game is to immerse yourself in work that offers no sense of purpose, confronting the experience of piling up numbers that ultimately mean nothing. To express this, the visuals and sound aim to evoke solitude and emptiness in single-player, while creating a reactive, almost aggressive intensity in multiplayer. Our goal was to capture the peculiar calm—and the subtle feeling of growth—that can emerge from performing the same simple task over and over.

The Future of Work

Jobs with clear, visible value are rapidly being replaced by AI and robotics.
A small number of exceptionally talented individuals may find roles that help solve global problems.
Most people will not.

If we continue to live in a world where we must work to survive, people may be left with the dull, repetitive tasks that AI and robots refuse to do.
And even those tasks may be consumed by pressure, competition, and the demand for constant improvement.

Are you good at doing boring work?

Who Is This Game For?

For those who appreciate quiet, solitary labor.
For those who enjoy simple, casual competition with friends.
For anyone who finds meaning, humor, or challenge in the monotony of low-value work.

Violence and Sensitive Content

There is no blood, gore, or direct violence in the game; however, it includes some suggestive elements or atmospheric cues that imply violence for thematic purposes.

Disclaimer About the Nature of the Game

LOW VALUE JOB is a work of fiction.

Its portrayal of parts sorting as a “low-value” or “meaningless” job is strictly a narrative device within the game’s dystopian setting. We do not intend to diminish or devalue the real-world work performed by professionals involved in parts sorting or related tasks.

The developer has previously worked in parts-sorting roles in a professional capacity and acknowledges that such work is both necessary and meaningful in real-world contexts.

Part sorting is often an undervalued line of work, and I truly hope that affordable tools to support it will become more widely available.
