About Lines of Battle

Lines of Battle started as a personal project inspired by Napoleonic history and the 1970 film Waterloo. The idea was to make a strategy game where giving orders feels like making a real decision: you have a plan, but you don't know exactly what the other side will do.

In each battle, you command infantry, cavalry, and artillery. Both sides give their orders, and then those orders play out at the same time. You need to think about terrain, formations, and what you can and can't see. After each turn, you see what happened and decide what to do next.

What we're planning for Early Access

Our plan is for the initial Early Access release to include:

• Battles against the computer.
  
• Online battles against other players.
  
• A map editor to create your own battlefields.
  
• The Italian Campaign of 1796–1797.

These are our current plans. We may adjust them as we develop and test the game.

After Early Access begins

As we work toward the full release, we plan to add more campaigns and keep developing features and improvements based on player feedback. We'll share more details as the work progresses.
