Lines of Battle began as the vision of a single developer, inspired by watching the 1970 film Waterloo hundreds of times. The goal was simple: to distill the grand, cinematic feeling of Napoleonic warfare into a deep yet accessible strategy game.

Today, that vision has evolved into a rich, competitive wargame supported by a dedicated community of mapmakers, historical consultants, and artists. Our ambition is to expand this system across every major era of human conflict.

What’s Coming to Steam

• Full 3D Graphics: The Sophie Games team has expanded to bring our tactical vision to life with glorious 3D environments and units.
  
• Operational Campaigns: Command at a higher level. Manage divisions and corps, strike at supply lines, and coordinate your Grand Armée across Northern Italy, Central Europe, and the Russian steppe.
