Description
Junk Store is now on Steam. This is a standalone version rewritten from the ground up to remove the dependency on Decky loader. Now you can install your favourite games from the Epic Games Store and the Gog Store right within game mode.
No need to mess with external launchers, go native! This is as easy as it can get, no need to enter desktop mode!
Junk-Store is an extensible launcher framework and platform. It's not a single launcher but has the potential to be an everything launcher. If you have the technical know-how and expertise you can extend it and launch any game from any platform using shell scripts and helper applications.
Key Features:
Engineered specifically for Game Mode. Once installed you can download and launch games without needing to go into Desktop Mode.
Junk Store utilises the Steam-native interface for managing games, allowing Steam to handle most of the process.
Junk Store leverages Steam's built-in functionality to manage Proton prefixes.
You can use the QAM to adjust per game Proton settings such as FPS limiting, etc.
It is extensible! You can write whatever you want for Junk Store integrations if you have the skill. You don't need to wait on anyone else to add features or store front integrations.
Currently we have integrated support for Epic and Gog Games that ships with Junk Store.
Epic achievements and EOS overlay are functional for games that support this feature (however, there is no playtime tracking).
More will be coming soon with new technology that we’re busy polishing up to make it even easier to add custom extensions (no coding required for simple cases).
Please note that we’re an evolving application and features such as cloud saves and achievements are not yet integrated in a way that we are happy with. While there might be limited experimental support, this is a minefield to navigate and we aim to solve these problems once we have the resources and manpower for it.
Junk Store started as a hobby project for personal use and grew far beyond the initial scope. We’re a small team of two, with one being the developer and the other doing everything else. We estimate that at least 3000 hours of development and research has gone into this project to date and we are just getting started. There is so much more we want to provide our users.
