FRANKIE FREAKO is a chaotic, 8-bit roguelite action-platformer. Fight your way up Munch Tower , build a ridiculous collection of powers, and take on the tyrant ruling Freak World. Get captured? Bingo Bongo's got your back. Spend loot upgrades and come back stronger!

Based on the movie Frankie Freako , this prequel combines the spirit of an '80s movie tie-in game with procedural levels, random upgrades, and a very destructive bunch of little Freakos.

Kick a tyrant's butt!

They’re small, they’re mischievous, and they love to party. For centuries, the FREAKOS lived peacefully on their home planet of FREAK WORLD. Then MUNCH appointed himself FREAK LORD , took over with an army of mechanical FREAKO KILLERS , and forced his fellow Freakos to operate the phone hotlines of MUNCH INDUSTRIES.

Business is booming. Everybody else is miserable. Frankie, Boink, and Dottie have had enough.

With the help of rad-hacker Bingo Bongo , everyone's favourite original character, it’s time to climb Munch Tower and kick some bureaucratic butt.

Take the tower

Each run sends you upwards through procedurally assembled floors, from the sewers beneath Munch Tower to its increasingly dangerous upper reaches. Changing layouts and random boon choices keep you adapting as you climb. Learn the enemies, find your route, and work with the powers you’re offered.

Turn scenery into weaponry

Grab objects and hurl them into Munch’s robotic army. Stun a Freako Killer robot, pick it up, and use it to trash its friends! Smash destructible scenery for loot, dash in any direction, even in mid-air, and unleash your character’s special attack when things get crowded.

The clock is ticking!

Bingo can only hold off Munch’s security for so long. Defeat enemies to earn precious extra seconds, then clear the entire floor to open the exit. Once the last Freako Killer goes down, time to escape! Make a dash for the elevator, or risk grabbing a little more loot before you leave. Greed can pay off... if you get out in time!

Build your Freako

After each successful floor escape, add a new power, shaping your build as you ascend. Boost your throwing damage, improve your dash, strengthen your special attack, or turn your terrible Freako hygiene into a combat advantage.

From Garlic Soda to Fart Loafers , boons come in different rarities, with powerful higher levels to chase and character-specific upgrades to discover. Build around a favourite ability, combine complementary effects, or take a chance on something strange. Your next choice could change your entire run.

Get captured; Get upgraded; Get back in there!

Visit Bingo’s upgrade store between runs to improve your starting capabilities, then head back into the tower with a fresh set of boon choices ahead of you. Even a failed climb can help fund your next breakthrough.

Start with Frankie and unlock the rest of the gang , each bringing their own special attack and exclusive boons:

• FRANKIE: Clear a crowd with his devastating devil scream.

• BOINK: Give Munch’s army a proper pounding with his extendo-fist. Shabadoo!

• DOTTIE: Put her sharpshooting skills to work with bullets and gun-focused upgrades.

Reach Munch, beat him, and escape to complete a victorious run. Then take the other Freakos to the top: victories with all three characters reveal the full ending.

There’s always another build to try, another upgrade to earn, and another opportunity to kick Munch’s butt.
