Welcome to "The Authority," the cosmic organization responsible for managing the life-death cycle of... everything.
You are a reaper - technically an employee - tasked with serving Final Notices to immortal entities who refuse to retire on schedule.

As with most jobs, you're expected to learn on the job, break a few things, and file the relevant forms afterward.

Final Notice is a dense, puzzle-like solo deckbuilder where you are encouraged - professionally obligated, even - to lose. Losing reveals weaknesses. Weaknesses become strategies. Strategies become victories you can brag about in the break room.

If you're hoping to win your first fight, you're in the wrong department.

YOUR DAILY TASKS WILL INCLUDE:

  • Experimenting with 110+ cards designed to synergize, contradict each other, and occasionally betray you.

  • Managing mortis, a soul-derived resource that Health & Safety insists is "safe enough" to use unsupervised.

  • Building and rebuilding decks after each inevitable workplace accident.

  • Battling procedurally generated bosses built from adjective-domain combinations.

  • Tracking status effects like Banished, Fogged, and Entombed - all of which are definitely covered under your contract. Maybe.

  • Revising your strategy because your starter deck is about as effective as a stapler against a hurricane.

THE INTENDED LOOP (PLEASE READ - HR INSISTS):

  • Attempt a boss fight.

  • Lose. (This is normal. Please stop filing incident reports.)

  • Return to the deckbuilder.

  • Rethink your life choices.

  • Discover a synergy you didn't notice before.

  • Beat the boss.

  • Hit a harder boss.

  • Restart at Step 2 until you clock out or management intervenes.

If you enjoy figuring things out yourself, welcome aboard.
If you prefer a guided tour and guaranteed wins, HR recommends transferring to another department.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Bounty Mode lets you fight curated bosses for training and performance evaluation.

  • Roguelike Mode exists for employees seeking "career development" or "creative self-destruction."

  • The game is dense by design - a puzzle you unpack through repetition, failure, and questionable perseverance.

YOUR FEEDBACK MATTERS

Final Notice is under active development. Submissions are reviewed. Suggestions are logged. Non-compliance is… noted.
