Europa Universalis V Sacred Sites

This cosmetic pack adds eight historical holy locations to the Europa Universalis V map. This pack is included immediately upon purchase of the Europa Universalis V: Premium Upgrade.

The sacred sites include:

  • Ranganathaswamy Temple: This holy Hindu site was built by the Chola rulers of Southern India on ground that had been sacred for thousands of years.

  • St. Peter's Basilica: The holiest temple in Catholicism, this church is the seat of the Pope in Rome.

  • The Kaaba: This Islamic location is the religious center of Mecca, and the destination of Muslims performing the sacred duty of pilgrimage.

  • Mahabodhi Temple: Built in Bihar by the emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE, this Buddhist temple is a symbol of the ruler’s turn away from war and conquest.

  • Temple of Confucius: Based on the former home of Confucius, this temple complex in Qufu is the largest in China, with over 400 rooms on 16,000 square meters.

  • Church of the Holy Sepulchre: One of the holiest sites in Christianity, this church is dedicated as the place of Jesus Christ’s burial and resurrection in Jerusalem.

  • The great pyramid of Cholula: Built over the course of 12 centuries, this Toltec complex dedicated to Quetzalcoatl is the largest pyramid complex in the world.

  • Enryaku-ji Temple: Dating to the early Heian era, this Kyoto temple is dedicated to the worship of Tendai, a Japanese form of Mahayana Buddhism.
