You'll take on the role of an old guard who has worked in the gatehouse of a small medieval town his whole life. But something has changed; townsfolk are talking about all sorts of weird sightings, and the woods around the town might not be as safe as they once were.

Gameplay includes:

• Managing the gatehouse: Talking with folk, opening the gate, inspecting trading wagons, and maintaining fire.
  
• Interacting with townsfolk and balancing decisions.
  
• Patrolling around town and scouting from the watchtower. While outside, you'll have to be on high alert and ready to run for a safe spot if you encounter danger.

Events in this game occur before Dreadwoods Gatekeeper, but it does not matter whether you play it before or after that game.
