Ducks, Dollars and Dark Beginnings is a humorous short story set in the world of Chop Chop Inc.

Ever since his former employer, Furnox Inc., fired him via ejector seat, Charles has been stranded in the wilderness. His only way back to civilization leads through an outrageously expensive private tunnel—guarded by an overzealous attendant and an automated gun turret.

Then Charles meets Chester, a talking treasure chest. Together, they could turn a few trees into a furniture empire, knock Furnox off its throne, and become fabulously rich. At least, that’s what Chester believes. Charles, meanwhile, is far more interested in the coins inside him.

What follows is a story about greed, delusions of grandeur, questionable business ideas, surprisingly dangerous ducks, and quite possibly the worst company launch of all time.
