Description
"Well, well, well; if it isn't the consequences of my own actions..."
Blocking Blocks is a minimal puzzle game that teaches a valuable lesson about short-term and long-term planning.
The (short-term) goal of the game is simple: get the player block (usually red) to the square hole without colliding with any of the other blocks in the level.
The long-term goal is to do this again, and again, and again... a total of five times to beat the level. The catch is that everything you did in previous rounds of the level are repeated each time you play.
If you can get to the goal before the "ghosts" of your past decisions do, you get bonus points!
It takes five rounds to officially beat a level, but there are an additional five bonus "unblocked" rounds afterwards. Don't worry; they're completely optional... if you don't care about the true ending.
Epilepsy warning
As the game is at least somewhat aesthetically inspired by arcade games of yore, there are moments where the colours on screen will shift in brightness dramatically. These colour transitions may be uncomfortable or harmful to players with photosensitive epilepsy or similar conditions.
Obligatory: this game was written in Rust.
