A new force rises in this latest expansion to Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition!
What’s New in Raiders of the North
• Two New Civilizations – Vikings and Scots, each with distinct systems and evolving playstyles, as well as new architecture, masteries, music and evolving language.
• Expanded Crucible Mode – Four new missions and deeper progression with Boons, Perks, Mutators, and Civilization-specific Talent Tracks
• Solo and two-player Co-op Crucible– Take on new and reimagined challenges alone or with a friend.
• Two New Biomes – Scottish Heathland and Tundra Summer shape the look and feel of the battlefield
The Vikings
The Vikings arrive as a relentless power shaped by raids, mobile and adaptable infantry, and the promise of glory that will echo through the ages. Fast melee infantry, early naval dominance, and a resilient economy built around the Longhouse define their early strength. As time progresses, their society transforms. Pagan traditions give way to emerging kingdoms, and their armies adapt with knights and trained militias while their legacy is carried forward through heroic Sagas that grant lasting power.
The Scots
The Scots stand firm as a resilient and defensive civilization. Their strength lies in disciplined infantry, fortified defenses, and a unique food economy driven by Highland cattle and fishponds. From tower houses to grand castles, their presence on the battlefield reflects a nation forged through conflict. The Mustering Hall allows players to shape their forces between Highland and Lowland strengths, creating tactical flexibility in every match.
The Crucible Expands
Raiders of the North introduces four new Crucible missions with fresh challenges like seaborne raiders and civil war among Scottish clans. Now playable solo or in two-player co-op, the mode expands with new Objectives, Boons, Perks, Mutators, and civilization-specific Talent Tracks, delivering meaningful variety and replayability.
New Worlds to Conquer
Two new biomes, inspired by the lands shaped by the Vikings and Scots, bring the atmosphere of the North to life.
